Ea Motorcycle Oil Filters (EaOM)
AMSOIL INC. revolutionized the filtration industry with its introduction of AMSOIL Ea Air and Ea Oil Filters. For the first time exclusive nanofiber technology – the same technology used in the Abrams M1 tank and other heavy duty applications – was made available for automotive applications. Now, AMSOIL has made this outstanding new technology available for motorcycles.

Nanofiber Basics
Because the nanofibers in AMSOIL Ea Motorcycle Oil Filter media are so small, there are more pores per square inch, allowing for higher dirt-holding capacity and lower pressure drop compared to traditional filter medias. Thinner media fibers produce more uniform pore size distribution, improving the filter’s overall ability to capture and retain particles.

Oil Filtration Basics
Clean oil is vital to engine performance and durability. Oil must lubricate, cool and clean the engine as it circulates. In order to remain effective, it must be filtered as it cycles. The filter is connected to the engine sump, which contains the oil pump. Full-flow filters pass all the oil output from the pump through the filter.

The function of the oil filter is to remove the contaminants introduced into the lubricating oil and prevent them from reaching sensitive engine parts without restricting normal oil flow to the various points requiring lubrication. Internal sources of contamination include wear products from the rubbing surfaces of the engine, blow-by gases leaking past the rings of the pistons and degradation of the oil itself. A filter must perform well in the areas of efficiency, capacity, flow and life.

AMSOIL Quickshot Gasoline Treatment and Stabilizer

AMSOIL QUICKSHOTDegraded fuel presents a major maintenance issue in small engines and powersports equipment. It can form varnish, gum and insoluble debris that clog carburetors, fuel injectors and fuel filters. Carbon buildup can form on the tops of pistons, causing pre-ignition, rough idling and poor throttle response. Fuel-related problems are only expected to intensify in the coming years as the ethanol content in pump gasoline continues to increase.

AMSOIL Quickshot (AQS) is a premium fuel additive formulated to thoroughly clean and restore peak performance in small engine and powersports equipment fuel systems. It also stabilizes fuel between uses and during short-term storage. Its revolutionary technology focuses on three major fuel-related issues plaguing these applications: ethanol, water and dirty pump gas.

Ethanol
Ethanol in fuel has a tendency to absorb water and separate from the gasoline (a process known as phase separation), sinking to the bottom of the gas tank where it quickly degrades and creates gum, varnish and other insoluble debris that can plug fuel-flow passages and negatively affect engine performance. When this ethanol/water mixture is pulled into the engine, it creates a lean-burn situation that increases combustion chamber temperatures and can lead to engine damage. AMSOIL Quickshot is designed to keep water dispersed throughout the fuel tank, moving it out as a normal part of operation and decreasing the chance of ethanol separating from the gasoline. Quickshot was tested in fuel containing 10 percent ethanol. Controlled plugging of injectors showed a 70 percent flow improvement, while oxidation stability improved 44 percent over untreated fuel.

Water
Water finds its way into gas tanks through condensation in tanks open to the atmosphere, gas pumps and other environmental conditions, and if left untreated, will cause starting, performance and corrosion problems. By keeping water dispersed in tiny molecules and safely moving it out of the tank through the combustion chamber, Quickshot helps maintain engine performance and protects against damaging corrosion.

Dirty Gasoline
Dirty gasoline causes fuel-system gumming and varnish, as well as piston and combustion chamber deposits. Although all gasoline sold in the U.S. is formulated with a lowest additive concentration (LAC) level of detergent additives, these detergent levels are not enough to prevent deposits from building up on critical fuel system components. Quickshot contains unique chemistry that quickly detaches and carries away deposits and buildups in fuel systems, injectors and carburetors, while also cleaning hard-to-remove deposits on piston tops, spark plugs and other combustion chamber parts.


APPLICATIONS
Quickshot (AQS) is recommended for use in all two- and four-stroke gasoline-powered engines, including motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats, personal watercraft, ATVs, edgers, tillers, mowers, snowblowers, chainsaws, generators and farm and construction equipment. However, AMSOIL P.i.® Performance Improver is the superior choice for passenger vehicle applications.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Quickshot is designed for an initial clean-up dose of 8 oz. per 6 gallons of gasoline, followed by 8 oz. per 12 gallons thereafter. Slight overtreatment has no negative consequences.

Applications
AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR® Synthetic EP Lubricants are excellent for severe applications, such as towing, hauling, steep hill driving, commercial use, plowing, racing, off-road use, rapid acceleration, frequent stop-and-go operation and high ambient temperatures.

Higher horsepower, towing and hauling capabilities of modern vehicles make turbo diesel pick-ups, SUVs, vans and delivery/utility vehicles especially prone to severe service. Other severe duty vehicles include light, medium and heavy-duty trucks, buses, heavy equipment, 4X4s, tow trucks, race cars, tractors, and motor homes.

For product service life in differentials, consult your owner’s manual or the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to establish the application, NORMAL or SEVERE.

For product service life in non-differential applications, consult owner’s manual or the OEM for either normal or severe synthetic oil service intervals. Where service intervals are unavailable, drain at twice the interval for conventional oil.

Gear oils should be changed more frequently when operating vehicles or equipment in dusty or dirty conditions unless the gear system is properly sealed and equipped with membrane type breathers.

Note: AMSOIL does not support extended drain intervals where water contamination occurs. Check and service the gear oil frequently when water contamination is possible.

Recommended for use in differentials, manual transmissions and other gear applications requiring any of the following specifications: API GL-5, MT-1, MIL-PRF-2105E, Dana SHAES 234 (Formerly Eaton PS-037), Mack GO-J, or the differential (hypoid) gear oil specifications from all domestic and foreign manufacturers such as GM, Ford and Daimler Chrysler. Can also be used in axles where an API GL-4 lubricant is recommended.

AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR® (75W-140) provides superior performance and replaces competitors’ 75W-140, 80W- 140 and 85W-140 gear oils. Use where these viscosities are required by OEMs and where maximum viscosity protection is needed for extreme severe-duty applications.

AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR® is compatible with conventional and synthetic gear oils. Mixing AMSOIL gear oils with other oils, however, will shorten the oil life expectancy and reduce the performance benefits. AMSOIL does not support extended drain intervals where oils have been mixed. Aftermarket oil additives, other than those specified by AMSOIL, are not recommended for use with AMSOIL gear oils.

AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR® is compatible with most limited slip differentials. If limited slip differential chatter occurs, add AMSOIL Slip-Lock™ friction modifier additive.

Shear Stability

High engine rpm common to scooter applications increases shear, causing conventional lubricants to lose viscosity and reduce their ability to control wear, resulting in shorter engine life. The synthetic formulation of Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Scooter Oil effectively resists shear, delivering consistent viscosity protection for outstanding wear protection and extended equipment life.

Thermal Stability

Scooter engine operating temperatures fluctuate greatly, especially in air-cooled engines. Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Scooter Oil resists breakdown at elevated temperatures, maintaining its protective viscosity for maximum wear control.

Transmission and Gear Box Compatibility

In many scooter applications, the engine and transmission and gearbox share the same oil reservoir. Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Scooter Oil is shear stable and resists thinning from mechanical activity, providing superior protection for transmissions and gearboxes.

Wet Clutch Compatibility

Some scooters employ a frictional clutch to engage and disengage the engine from the drivetrain. In many cases, this clutch is immersed in the same oil used in the engine and transmission. Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Scooter Oil is wet-clutch compatible. It contains no friction modifiers, offering smooth clutch operation and increased clutch life.

Rust and Corrosion Protection

Scooters are often subjected to extended periods of inactivity and storage, exposing the equipment to internal rust and corrosion. Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Scooter Oil is formulated with a special anti-corrosion additive package designed to provide long-term protection during periods of inactivity and storage.

AMSOIL Shock Therapy Suspension Fluid is formulated to make suspension systems more predictable. Its base stocks have inherently high viscosity indices that effectively maintain viscosity, while its anti-foam agents reduce aeration and foam.

Reduces Friction and Wear

The constant friction within a shock body decreases suspension performance. AMSOIL Shock Therapy Suspension Fluid contains friction modifiers to reduce the energy loss caused by friction, while anti-wear agents are added to protect shocks and forks from premature wear.
